Special issue: Late consequences of venous thromboembolism

      We are pleased to serve as co-Editors for this special issue of Thrombosis Research on late consequences of venous thromboembolism. To date, much of the research on mechanisms, risk factors and management of venous thromboembolism has focused on acute aspects of this condition. In comparison, longterm outcomes after venous thromboembolism have received far less attention, which represents an important knowledge gap, given the potential for such outcomes to affect our patients over their lifespan.
